It is reported that BYD and Uber's cooperation will start from Europe and Latin America, and gradually expand to the Middle East, Australia and New Zealand. "The two companies will work together to promote the popularization of electric vehicles." BYD said.

BYD revealed that in order to encourage more drivers to choose electric vehicles, the two parties will further consider providing charging discounts, vehicle maintenance or insurance discounts to car owners in the future, as well as financing and leasing solutions based on the specific conditions of each market. "This in-depth cooperation between Uber and BYD is committed to improving user experience and creating social value," said Dara Khosrowshahi, CEO of Uber.

It is worth mentioning that BYD has been accelerating its overseas market expansion in recent years. So far, BYD's new energy vehicles have been sold in more than 80 countries and regions around the world.

Official data show that BYD's passenger car export sales in 2023 will be 243,000 units, a year-on-year increase of 337%. In the first half of 2024, BYD's new energy passenger car sales will be 1.607 million units, a year-on-year increase of 28.8%, of which overseas sales will exceed 203,000 units, a year-on-year increase of 173.8%.

On July 10, JPMorgan Chase raised BYD's A-share target price to 440 yuan and raised its 2024 sales forecast to 4 million vehicles. At the same time, it is expected that by 2026, BYD's global deliveries will reach 6 million vehicles, of which about 1.5 million will come from overseas markets.
